Support athletics and other cultural activities that provide enrichment for our young people.

Foster educational and mentoring programs that encourage self-esteem and to value human lives.

Partner with schools to develop educational programs focused on violence prevention and self awareness.

Utilize the collection of violent incident data to help plan strategies that are culturally aligned within our communities.

Connect at risk community members with appropriate services that provide social, emotional, and mental health support.

Collaborate outreach approaches with local and federal governament agencies, private businesses, faith-based groups, and non-profit organizations.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Office of Gun Violence Prevention is to utilize community-based strategies to help prevent violence and increase public safety. Our strategy is rooted in a public health approach to violence prevention, recognizing that reducing crime is accomplished through collaborative efforts from local and federal government agencies, private businesses, non-profit organizations, faith-based organizations, and community members.
